The younger children of friends and family were given ‘Look Here’, a book with no text but 279 colour illustrations, a selection by Axelle Russo of British Museum treasures – fine art, jewellery, textiles, sculpture and pottery of different civilisations and art forms across cultures, continents and time. I draw one ‘treasure’, post it to each of the children who in return draws another object and post their drawing to me.
The project aims to present the British Museum collections with our drawings. So far we have assembled the drawings of forty-five artefacts.
